Canada won both the men’s and women’s Super Sixes competitions on Sunday on home soil in Oshawa, Ontario to cap three days of exciting sixes action.

In the men’s competition, Canada continued its winning streak against the United States in sixes with a 16-12 win. Canada is the top ranked program in men’s sixes after winning The World Games 2022 and Canada has swept a pair of fall titles after winning The Atlas Cup in September in the United States.
Dyson Williams and Jake Stevens led Canada with three goals each against the Americans. Grayson Manning excelled in net and backstopped Canada throughout its run to the title.
The Haudenosaunee bested Australia by one for the bronze medal in a nail biting 14-13 classic where the Haudenosaunee held onto a narrow lead for the final four minutes. In the final minute, the Haudenosaunee forced a shot wide from Marcus Wertheim to tie the game with under 10 seconds to go.
Jake Piseno answered the call for the Haudenosaunee with four goals while Nonkon Thompson added three. Teharonhiorens McComber scored the game-winning goal.
Both Canada and the United States advanced to the gold medal game with comfortable wins in the semifinal earlier in the day.

In the women’s competition, Canada Red defeated Australia 14-12 for the gold medal in another rollercoaster affair.
Canada Red led 5-4 after the first quarter, but Australia roared back to an 8-5 lead at halftime. Canada finally tied the game at 10-10 early in the fourth quarter, and then took the lead with a crucial goal from Alissa DiGiacinto to break an extended deadlock. Milana Zizakovic also fired in a crucial insurance goal in the final two minutes to extend Canada’s lead from one to two.
DiGiacinto led Canada Red in points, and goalkeeper Alecia Nicholas made crucial saves down the stretch for the champions.
Canada White took the bronze against the Haudenosaunee, 14-8. Kylea Dobson scored four and Dylana Williams added three.
Elsewhere in the women’s competition, Germany defeated Ireland 9-8 and Mexico snuck by the Dominican Republic 11-10 in a pair of exciting games.
For most of the programs in attendance in Oshawa, their next high level sixes action will come in continental qualifiers in 2026 for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championship. The Asia-Pacific Sixes Lacrosse Championship is set for October 2026 while the Pan-American and European Sixes Lacrosse Championships will be announced in the coming months.
