The 2025 Lacrosse Australia Major League Sixes will bring together the nation’s top lacrosse athletes this week for an exciting three-day showcase of elite sixes competition at Marden Sports Complex from November 13-15.
Now in its second year, MLS features five men’s and five women’s teams – the Adelaide Redbellies, Sydney Seahawks, Melbourne Makos, Brisbane Salties and Perth Manta Rays – competing in the fast-paced and high-scoring sixes format.

The event forms a key pillar of Lacrosse Australia’s high-performance calendar, aligning with the global push toward the sport’s return to the Olympic Games in 2028.
“This event is more than just a championship – it’s a celebration of where lacrosse is heading,” said Tim Kennedy, Lacrosse Australia director of competitions. “The sixes format represents the future of our game at the Olympic level, and it’s fantastic that so many of our elite athletes will get to showcase their talent at this event.”
Across both competitions, the field includes more than 80 athletes with international experience, representing Australia’s national programs, along with international recruits from the England/Great Britain squads and the NCAA.
On the men’s side, the defending champion Perth Manta Rays will aim to retain their title, while the Adelaide Redbellies and Brisbane Salties headline a strong challenge group. For the women, the reigning champion Adelaide Redbellies return to defend their crown against powerful lineups from Sydney and Perth.
“Everyone is embracing the sixes format – it’s fast, dynamic and captures fans’ attention,” said Ashtyn Hiron, Australian National Team captain and Adelaide Redbellies midfielder. “Major League Sixes is the perfect platform to showcase our sport and inspire the next generation.”
The event will be co-hosted by Olympian and former Hockeyroo Georgie Parker, highlighting lacrosse’s growing mainstream appeal and strong community links in Australia.
Beyond offering an elite-level lacrosse opportunity, MLS is a celebration of the sport’s growth and Olympic future. The event will include a festival-style experience, including a celebrity showcase match, family activations and opportunities to try Quick Stix, the sport’s grassroots introductory program in Australia.
The event will also honor Australia’s proud lacrosse heritage, recognizing the 1995 U19 women’s world champions, the 2005 women’s world champions and the inaugural Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame class.
