United States and Canada score comfortable wins on day one of Atlas Cup

On day one of the Atlas Cup in Sparks, Maryland, the United States and Canada posted dominant wins in men’s and women’s sixes competition.

In the men’s competition, the United States defeated Puerto Rico 23-13 while Canada bested the Haudenosaunee 24-16 in two high-scoring affairs.

In the women’s event, Canada won comfortably against Puerto Rico 22-8 and the United States defeated the Haudenosaunee 18-5.

On Saturday, another four games on are tap beginning at 4 p.m. ET, with Canada taking on the United States at 8:30 p.m. in a rivalry blockbuster of two loaded rosters. The two teams met in the last final of the men’s sixes competition at The World Games in 2022 with Canada taking the win. The two rivals have traded titles in the four men’s World Lacrosse championships since then.
