FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 12, 2020
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO, USA – World Lacrosse, the international federation for men’s and women’s lacrosse, announced today that its 2020 General Assembly will be held October 18 in a virtual-meeting format.
The World Lacrosse General Assembly is the annual general meeting of the organization’s member-National Governing Bodies, Continental Federations, Board of Directors and Management Team.
The General Assembly is typically held in conjunction with a World Championship. However, with significant changes to the 2020 international calendar brought about by the global pandemic, and with the health and safety of delegates as the priority, the 2020 General Assembly will instead be held virtually.
Specific details regarding the agenda and time for the 2020 General Assembly will be forthcoming.
“During this challenging time, our membership has shown tremendous flexibility in adapting to new meeting formats and utilizing technology to share ideas, resources and encouragement,” said World Lacrosse President Sue Redfern. “Nothing can replace the value of in-person communication and meetings. However, in this unprecedented period, we must utilize technology to continue driving our organization forward and create a format for what I’m certain will be a successful General Assembly.”
