The 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s Box Championship wrapped up on day ten with two games of action, including the gold medal match and placement play between the Ireland and the Netherlands.
The United States surged past Canada for a 10-7 win in the gold medal match on Sunday afternoon at the Adirondack Bank Center to claim the title of the first-ever women’s box championship.

Ireland – Netherlands
The Netherlands snuck by Ireland, 11-10, on Sunday to earn seventh place at the World Lacrosse Box Championships.
Ryley Black led the way for the Netherlands with six goals, and Delaney Keen added a hat-trick. After Ireland’s Haley Price connected with a minute left to get within one, the Netherlands stood tall for the final 60 seconds to hang on for the one-goal win.
Ireland’s Briar Slattery tallied a hat trick, and three players, including Price, added two goals. Gillian Smith found her teammates all game, tallying five assists.
Darya Saèd played the whole game for the Netherlands and saved 32 shots. Taking turns in net for Ireland, Alice Loughran and Becky Moloney combined for 35 saves.
Ireland held a slight 5-6 penalty advantage.
After the tight loss, Ireland heads home with an eighth-place finish.
