The schedule for women’s lacrosse at The World Games 2025 has been released, with eight of the world’s top national teams set to compete in the dynamic sixes discipline from August 7-11 in Chengdu, China.
The lacrosse competition in the multi-sport event will feature Australia, Canada, China, Czechia, Great Britain, Ireland, Japan and the United States. Host China and Ireland will each be making their debut in The World Games lacrosse tournament. Teams will be divided into two pools using snake seeding based on world rankings.
Pool play will run from August 7-9, followed by semifinals and placement games on August 10 and medal games on August 11.

The TWG 2025 lacrosse tournament arrives at a pivotal moment for the sport, serving as a global preview for lacrosse’s return to the Olympic Games at LA28, where sixes will make its Olympic debut. The high-speed, high-scoring discipline was specifically designed to enhance accessibility and global competitiveness, aligning with the vision for the future of international lacrosse.

2022 Medalists Return to the Field
The World Games 2025 builds on the momentum from the 2022 edition in Birmingham, Alabama, where Canada captured gold with a 14-12 victory over the United States in the gold medal game. Australia secured bronze with a win over Great Britain. All three medal-winning nations return to the field in Chengdu, aiming to reaffirm their status ahead of Olympic competition.

The World Games is an international multi-sport event organized by the International World Games Association and recognized by the International Olympic Committee. Held every four years, the 2025 Games in Chengdu will bring together athletes from across the globe to compete in sports not traditionally featured in the Olympic program, while also spotlighting those that are newly added – including lacrosse.
