The Hong Kong, China Lacrosse Association is set to host a Super Sixes competition at Aberdeen Sports Ground in Hong Kong with five teams each in men’s and women’s events from December 13-15.
The HKLA is staging a Super Sixes competition for the second year in a row, with this edition featuring teams representing China, Germany and the Philippines in the men’s and women’s fields, as well as teams in both events with athletes from Japan.
In both competitions, the five-team groups will play a round robin on Friday and Saturday before a playoff round on Sunday, with the top-seeded team after group play receiving a bye into the gold medal game.
All of the games throughout the weekend can be streamed here. Results will be available on HKLA’s website and social media channels.
Germany took home silver in both the men’s and women’s competitions last season while China swept bronze.
In the men’s competition, all five of the teams boast players with experience at World Lacrosse championships, including four teams with players who competed in September in Utica at the Men’s Box Championship.
In the women’s competition, both China and Hong Kong feature players who competed at the Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong in August. Germany is rostering multiple athletes who suited up at the Women’s Box Championship and the Global Lacrosse squad is led by international stars from the United States, Canada and Hong Kong in Erin Bakes, Megan Kinna and Sophie Beane.
Rosters for all 10 teams in Super Sixes and players to watch for each team can be found on HKLA’s Instagram here.
