The 2024 Super Sixes – Canada event is set for October 11-13 in Coquitlam, British Columbia featuring three women’s and three men’s teams in action.
Lacrosse Canada is hosting the event for a third straight year, this time in Coquitlam alongside the British Columbia Lacrosse Association.
Canada, Mexico and a First Nations team will compete in the men’s event while Canada, Great Britain and the Haudenosaunee will compete in the women’s event.
All games throughout the weekend will be streamed on YouTube here, free of charge. The games will be held at Percy Perry Stadium and attendance is free.
“Lacrosse Canada is thrilled to collaborate with the BCLA to host this prestigious international event. We are excited to continue showcasing this dynamic discipline in Canada on an annual basis and to partner with the BCLA to produce a truly memorable experience for all involved,” said Marisa Di Bari, Marketing and Communications Director of Lacrosse Canada Board of Directors.
In the men’s competition, Canada is bringing a young team full of players from British Columbia.
In the women’s competition, Canada has a blend of experience and youth, with Erica Evans leading the way alongside Bianca Chevarie, Eve Hritzuk and Daniella Stroup.
The Haudenosaunee have a familiar squad of sixes stars and players that just competed in the women’s box championship, led by Paisley Cook, Jalyn Jimerson, Fawn Porter and goalkeeper Paige Crandall.
Great Britain rounds out a competitive women’s field with a strong sixes squad, led by Ella Cohen and Julie Wise, who contributed to England’s strong performance at the EuroLax Sixes Cup in Portugal. Chess Gray and Emilie Chandler, who both represented Great Britain in sixes at The World Games in 2022, are also included. Another handful of players have senior women’s field experience for England.
