(MANCHESTER, ENGLAND)  The 2010 FIL World Lacrosse Championship is less than seven months away. Indications suggest 30 nations will compete for the title. All games, round robin to final, will be played at the Armitage Centre, Manchester University.

Four dedicated pitches (two astro turf and two grass) will host up to nine championship divisions. A five-thousand seat spectator area will be built around an astro turf pitch creating a first class stadium. All blue division and final games will be played in the stadium.

The only way to view these games will be to purchase a stadium ticket. Stadium tickets are only available for purchase in a season ticket format from 2010worldlacrosse.com/tickets.

Lacrosse will be played at the venue from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Non-stadium tickets are available to those who want to simply enjoy the atmosphere and watch the lower divisions and FIL Festival games. The championship venue will include a retail village, bars, and other refreshments. A full day of entertainment will be available for spectators.

Official 2010 WLC merchandise is on sale now. A range of official merchandise has been developed. Please visit 2010worldlacrosse.com/merchandise to take a look and perhaps purchase a Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day or birthday present.

“Wall of Support” – Buy a brick and be seen as a supporter of the 2010 World Lacrosse Championship on both the website and at the event. Bricks in the wall cost £10 and will be displayed on an actual wall at the event. Buy your brick now at 2010worldlacrosse.com/sponsorship.

The 2010 World Lacrosse Championship will be the first to host three different tournaments at one venue: The FIL Men’s World Championship, the FIL Festival and the Community Lacrosse Games. The FIL Festival will run between the 17th and the 22nd of July 2010. The FIL Festival will be held in conjunction with the Championship at the same venue and be played on nine additional FIL™ Festival pitches. The 2010 FIL Festival is the first Championship Festival to be accredited by the FIL™. This means the Masters divisions will carry the title of “World Champions.”

Registration for the Festival has been open since January 2009 and a total of 55 teams have committed to the event. There is still room if you would like to enter a team. Contact: t.holdsworth@englishlacrosse.co.uk for more information.

Do you have what it takes to be a part of the 2010 World Championship Event Team?
We are looking for committed, lacrosse savvy volunteers to sit alongside the World Championship action and keep penalty time, game time, score and statistics. The more you give back to the sport of lacrosse and the World Championship, the more you receive in return! If you are available to commit at least five days between the 10th and the 24th of July, fill out the volunteer form found on 2010worldlacrosse.com/volunteers. Many other volunteer positions are also available.

CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL!
