Japan announces roster for The World Games 2025

Japan announced its 12-player roster to compete at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China in August in women’s sixes competition.

Three players return from the Japan team that competed at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama in Nene Kawai, Negai Nakazawa and Nozomi Tanaka. Negai Nakazawa was also selected to the World Team for Japan after a strong performance at the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship.

Kokoro Nakazawa was previously named to the World Team for Japan at the 2019 Women’s U19 Championship, and goalkeeper Hina Uchida was named the MVP for Japan in the final of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Women’s Lacrosse Championship, a 9-5 win over Australia.

Japan will be in a pool in Chengdu alongside Canada, China and Great Britain. Competition begins on Thursday, August 7.
