Ireland earned a berth at the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship with an 12-6 win over Germany in the first quarterfinal of the 2025 European Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Wednesday in Wroclaw.

Ireland took care of business early after playing on Tuesday, starting the game with seven goals in 23 minutes.
Germany got as close as 9-4 in third, but Ireland never let the Germans threaten the final scoreline.
Patrick Corbett’s dazzling four-goal, two-assist showing sparked Ireland, as did Liam Horkan’s three assists.
Joe Walsh excelled in net, making 15 saves on 21 shots faced for a 71% save percentage.
Ireland became the fourth team in Europe to punch its ticket to Tokyo in 2027, and joins Japan, England, Italy and Israel in the 16-team field.
Ireland will make its seventh appearance in the championship, having participated in the last six editions dating back to 2002.
Germany will play two more placement matches in Wroclaw and needs one more win to earn its bid.
Ireland continues play at the European Men’s Championship on Thursday and will face Italy in the first semifinal at 3:40 p.m. CEST.
