Four teams advanced to the semifinals at the Women’s European Sixes Qualifier for the World Games 2025 after winning their first playoff matchups on Friday in Portugal.
Czechia, Germany, Ireland and Israel all prevailed to set up the two win-and-in semifinals on Saturday with spots in The World Games 2025 on the line. Israel will face Ireland at 10:30 a.m. GMT on Saturday while Germany will take on Czechia at 12 p.m.

The two winners will join six teams in the women’s sixes competition at The World Games 2025 in August in Chengdu: Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, United States and the host China. The semifinal winners will also play in a final for the qualifier on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Israel and Czechia competed at the last edition of The World Games in 2022. Ireland and Germany both finished in the top six at the last European Women’s Lacrosse Championship in 2024, where Czechia finished seventh and Israel second.

Czechia opened the action on Friday with a commanding 25-4 win over Poland. Michaela Srchova tallied eight goals and two assists while Isabella Keyes added six goals and an assist.
Germany claimed the second quarterfinal win, 6-4, over Switzerland in another stout defensive display. Switzerland had tied the game at 3-3 before halftime. Penelope Pennoyer scored the only the only goal in the third frame and another in the fourth to lead by two, and after Switzerland cut it to one, Lina Mulljans added an insurance goal with under three minutes to play.
Ireland out-dueled the Netherlands in a 15-13 thriller in the third quarterfinal, pulling away with two late goals. The teams traded runs throughout, with the Netherlands tying the game with just over three minutes to play. Margaret Egan scored the go-ahead goal and then assisted Kendra Harris on another in the final minute to secure the win.
Israel coasted past Spain, 16-2, in the final game of the day, finding four goals each from Rachel Rosenberg, Ilana Kofman and Brooke Frishman.
