England secures first victory in Pool D

England opened its campaign at the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship with a convincing Pool D victory over Jamaica.

England opened the game on a 6-0 run, and did not look back en route to a 30-3 final scoreline.

Annie Mather was named the player of the match and finished with five goals and two assists. Twelve different players appeared on the scoresheet for England – Freya Moody and Charlie Bell both finished with five or more points as well.

Ella Dimbylow posted a 10/13 success rate on draw controls.

Gabriella Henry made eight saves for Jamaica and Krisandra Ford made six saves.

England will face the host Hong Kong, China tomorrow at 5 p.m. in a battle of two 1-0 teams in Pool D. Jamaica is action against Japan at p.m.
