Playoff rounds set to begin at 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship

After six days of action at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship, all 29 teams will vie for final placement including a 16-team championship bracket to crown a winner.

Pool play wrapped up on Monday at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship, and 16 teams advanced to the championship bracket.

The top 16 teams were determined from six pools, with all five teams from Pool A moving on, as well as the top two teams from Pools B through F and the best third place team from those pools.

The next 13 teams will compete in the platinum bracket to determine their final placement.

The brackets – including teams, schedule and field designations –  can be found below for both the championship and platinum brackets. The round of 16 of the championship bracket begins on Tuesday, July 5, leading up to the semifinals on July 7 and the medal round on Saturday July 9.

The progression of seeds from pool play to bracket competition can be found here. It details how the top two finishers from Pools B-F are seeded from 6-15 and the method of determining the best third place team out of those pools. It also describes the tiebreakers for teams with the same record.

Competition starts on Tuesday at 9 a.m. and features eight games in the championship bracket.
