World Lacrosse is highlighting its All-World athletes from past world championships to celebrate their outstanding performances.
Taylor Cummings was named to the Tournament MVP at the 2022 Women’s Championship in Towson, Maryland for the United States as a midfielder, headlining the All-World Team. She was a key contributor for the United States, which went undefeated throughout the championship to claim the gold medal.
The United States went 8-0 in Towson with a dominant display in all phases of the game, and the win cemented a 30-game winning streak for the team in international competition.
It was Cummings’ second selection to the All-World Team after earning the honor in 2017.

Below is a short Q and A with Cummings and World Lacrosse.
Who is your lacrosse hero?/Who was your athlete inspiration growing up?
My dad and Mia Hamm were my athletic inspirations growing up. My dad was a collegiate soccer player and would help me in the backyard all the time while Mia Hamm was the one I watched on TV and wanted to be someday.
Who has been your most influential coach or teammate, and why?
My club coach Scott Robinson and my collegiate coach Cathy Reese are the two most influential coaches I’ve ever had. Both believed in me and pushed me to be a better teammate, leader, and player while also supporting me every step of the way. There was always a balance in how they coached me and I always appreciated that.
What drives you to be the best?
My teammates. I never want to let them down, so they were always my motivation to work hard, play my best, and be the best teammate I could be.
What is your favorite lacrosse moment throughout your career?
Winning my first national championship and last world championship at the same location (Towson University) was a real full circle moment for me that I will always cherish. Doing so with some of my favorite people in the world made it even more special.
