United States sweeps gold as 2026 Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships conclude after six days

USA and Canada play on October 4, 2026 in the Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships in Oshawa, Canada at Oshawa Civic Centre.

The United States swept the men’s and women’s gold medals over Canada with a pair of down-to-the-wire victories to conclude the 2026 Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships in Oshawa after six days.

The United States women came back to beat host Canada 15-14. Emma LoPinto scored the game-winning goal with 38 seconds to play, and Chloe Humphrey led the team with five goals.

The United States men stunned Canada on home soil with two goals in the last minute, including a game-winner with one second remaining, to prevail 12-11. Patrick Kavanagh scored the decisive goal on the power play after Coulter Mackesy tied the game with 23 seconds left.

The Puerto Rico women claimed bronze with a 15-9 win over the Haudenosaunee, while the Argentina women rounded out the top five with a win over Jamaica.

The Haudenosaunee men outlasted Puerto Rico in a thriller, 15-13, to earn the bronze medal. Brazil finished fifth after a dramatic 17-15 win over Jamaica, withstanding a late four-goal comeback.

The top five teams from each gender qualified for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships in Colorado Springs, United States, in October 2027. The remaining 11 spots in each field will be determined in the coming months at the next three continental sixes championships. Teams can qualify directly from the WL Sixes Championships to the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028.

The women’s All-Tournament Team featured Chloe Humphrey, Emma LoPinto and Marie McCool from the United States, Nicole Perroni and goalkeeper Kameron Halsall from Canada, and Lucia Nash-Lagares from Puerto Rico.

The men’s All-Tournament Team featured Michael Sowers and Joey Spallina from the United States, Willem Firth and Finn Thomson from Canada, goalkeeper Warren Hill from the Haudenosaunee, and Chase Jackson from Puerto Rico.
