The Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships begin Tuesday, with sixteen teams — eight in the men’s competition and eight in the women’s — competing in Oshawa, Canada, over six days.
The championship will serve as the first continental qualifier on the Olympic pathway, with the top five teams per gender advancing to the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships in Colorado Springs. Teams can qualify directly from the WLSC to the LA28 Games.

The championship will be streamed on WL TV with an event pass available for US$30, and tickets for in-person attendance are available through Lacrosse Canada.
Games will be held at the Oshawa Civic Fields, which has hosted the World Lacrosse Super Sixes tournament for four consecutive years from 2022 to 2025, most recently welcoming both a men’s and women’s field.
In each gender, both pools of four teams will play a round robin of three games in five days from Tuesday to Saturday, with the top two teams in each pool qualifying directly to the WLSC. Playoffs and placement are set for Sunday, with the crucial fifth-place game in each gender determining the last direct qualification spot. Pool winners will play for gold, and second-place finishers will play for bronze.
Six teams that participated in the 2023 Men’s Championship in field are in the event, led by all three medalists in the United States, Canada and the Haudenosaunee. Many players will return from the recent Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship in August, where Jamaica and Puerto Rico joined the top three ranked teams in qualifying for the 2027 Men’s Championship, putting the pressure on Mexico, Chile and Brazil to make a sixes splash.
Five teams from the 2026 WL Women’s Championship in July are in the field, headlined by the top two ranked teams in sixes, the United States and Canada, that medaled at The World Games 2025. The Haudenosaunee, Puerto Rico and Argentina all finished in the top ten at the women’s championship, while Mexico made the final of the women’s championship DII in July as well. The Brazil women’s team its making its debut at a World Lacrosse event.
