World Lacrosse Mourns the Passing of Ron Balls

World Lacrosse deeply mourns the loss of European Lacrosse Federation President Ron Balls – a leader, builder and lifelong champion of our sport – who passed away today at the age of 80.

The former secretary general of World Lacrosse, Ron’s lifelong commitment to lacrosse spanned decades and continents. He played an instrumental role in advancing lacrosse across Europe and around the world. His leadership and steady presence helped shape the global lacrosse community we know today.

A pillar of the international lacrosse family, Ron devoted much of his life to ensuring the sport continued to grow and thrive in new parts of the world. His contributions were immeasurable, and he leaves behind a remarkable legacy of service to our sport.

World Lacrosse extends its heartfelt condolences to Ron’s family, friends and the entire lacrosse community. His impact, leadership and love for lacrosse will never be forgotten, and his spirit will remain part of the game he loved so deeply.
