England rebounded from its quarterfinal defeat to coast past Italy, 25-4, in placement play the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship on Thursday.
England will play in the fifth place match against the winner of the Wales vs. Puerto Rico game on Friday at 4 p.m. HKT at Hong Kong Football Club Stadium.
England outshot Italy 41-9 and enjoyed a 23-9 advantage on draw controls.
Ella Dimbylow was named the player of the match with 13 wins on 20 draw controls.
Seven different players scored two or more goals for England, led by Freya Moody with five and Carys Johnson with four goals and an assist. Molly Light also added three goals and two assists.
Italy goalkeeper Matilde Crapanzano made nine saves.
Italy will be back in action on Friday at 1:30 p.m. HKT.
