The No. 1 United States handled No. 8 Israel in the quarterfinals, 19-3, at the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship.
The United States, ten-time champions in the competition, are advancing to the semifinal round – the team has made the gold medal game in all 13 of its previous appearances.
The United States will face No. 4 Australia in the semifinals at 8 p.m. PT at Snapdragon Stadium on Thursday.
Rob Pannell became the all-time leading goal scorer in United States men’s lacrosse history, and finished with two goals and one assist.
Israel was up for the challenge throughout the early stages, tying the game in the second quarter at 2-2, but from there it was all USA.
Connor Kelly led the offense with four goals and an assist and Brennan O’Neill and Michael Sowers also added five points.
The United States’ duo of TD Ierlan and Trevor Baptiste were superb once more, combining to win 23-26 of their face-offs.
