Format and Progression
Pool Play
- Following round-robin pool play, teams will first be ranked within their pools using the tie-breaking measures from the World Lacrosse Event Hosting and Competition Manual (included below)
- Due to Ghana’s withdrawal from the event, all pool play games against them for teams in Pool B will result in a 1-0 win for the competitor. This result will be dropped in the overall combined ranking (see below).
- Following the completion of pool rankings, a combined ranking will be calculated for all 19 teams, with A-pool occupying the first four positions, and the remaining 15 teams ranked
5-19 based on the following:- Placement within pool (#1-4)
- #1s will be compared against each other to be ranked #5-8
- #2s will be compared against each other to be ranked #9-12
- #3s will be compared against each other to be ranked #13-16
- #4s will be compared against each other to be ranked #17-19
- Comparison will utilize the following
- For teams ranked #1-3 in your pool after pool play, the following measures will be used considering only pool play games against teams seeded #1-3 in your pool:
- Wins
- Goal differential (goals for minus goals against), capped at 12 per game
- Goals conceded (fewest)
- Goals scored (highest to lowest)
- Coin flip
- For teams ranked #4 in your pool after pool play, the following measures will be used considering all pool play games:
- Wins (highest to lowest)
- Goal differential, goals for minus goals against (highest to lowest), capped at 12 per game
- Goals conceded (lowest to highest)
- Goals scored (highest to lowest)
- Coin flip
- Placement within pool (#1-4)
- Teams ranked #1 – #4 advance to the quarterfinals
- Teams ranked #5-12 (all #1s and #2s in pools B-E) advance to the first round of the playoffs
- Teams ranked #13-16 move on to a placement bracket playing 2-3 games to final placement
- #13 will receive a bye

Winners play two more placement games.
Losers move to a round-robin format and play two more games.
