Anxiety is an individual’s tendency to perceive situations as threatening and respond with an increase in a state or trait anxiety.
There are several types of anxiety, and individuals may experience anxiety in one or more of these ways.
Trait Anxiety:Â relates to an aspect of personality in which nervousness is a stable personality trait for an individual
State Anxiety:Â Refers to temporary feelings of anxiety in a particular situation. It is the state of emotional arousal following a perceived threat or circumstance
Cognitive Anxiety:Â Worrying thoughts
Somatic Anxiety:Â Physiological arousal (sweaty palms, increased heart rate)

- Anxiety can effect any kind of person at any stage of their life
- At some level we will all experience anxiety
