Quotables

Israel’s Ian Kadish on the team’s camaraderie so far throughout its playoff run:
One thing we talk about as Israel Lacrosse as a whole is ‘b’yachad,’ which means together. The games are long and challenging and it really felt like we took a nice step of not getting too high or too low, just b’yachad, staying together the whole time.
Ireland head coach Jeff Dowling after the thrilling playoff win over Australia:
My heart rate is going to go down for a while. It was quite the game.
Canada’s Josh Byrne on playing at Mary C. Winder Community Center on Tuesday:
It’s incredible. It’s such a special arena. It feels different in here, you can feel the energy and its incredibly cool for us to honor them [Oneida Indian Nation people] and play here.
United States’ men’s team manager Jake Henhawk on the women’s box on display so far:
“Watching them [women’s teams] there is so much skill. It’s nice to see how far the women’s game is right now even at the first world championship. There are going to be really, really, really, competitive games in the future.”
Czechia’s Jan Fiser on the low-scoring battle to overcome Germany:
We kept up the tempo we had been trying to maintain the whole tournament. Their goalie surprised us and it took us a while to score on him but in the end it worked out.
Japan head coach Naofumi Suzuki on Japan’s energy after defeating the Netherlands:
In terms of mental fatigue, we’re not tired at all. This game gave us a lot of positive energy mentally.
