With a top-four finish in women’s sixes at the World Games in 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama, Australia qualified automatically to the World Games 2025. Australia earned the bronze medal after a 13-7 defeat of Great Britain.
In 2022, Australia finished 2-1 in pool play and second in Group A, advancing to the semifinals. In the semifinals, Australia lost 12-7 to the eventual gold medal winners, Canada.
In the bronze medal match, Australia scored six unanswered goals in a row after trailing 1-0, and was able to hold off Great Britain the remainder of the way. Theo Kwas and Georgia Latch spearheaded the attack with five points each. Goalkeeper Addie Cunningham was strong in the net, making 14 saves on 21 shots.
In 2024, Australia competed at the Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong, China and finished fourth, as midfielder Miriam Suares-Jury was selected to the World Team. At the Women’s Box Championship, Australia also finished in fourth.


Australia’s senior women’s field team also finished in second place at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Women’s Lacrosse Championship in Queensland, Australia.


Katrina Dowd was recently named the new head coach of the Australian women’s sixes team. Dowd is currently coaching the women’s program at Brown University.
At the World Games 2025, Australia will play in Pool B with Czechia, Ireland and the United States. Australia’s first match will take place on Aug. 7th against Czechia at 1 p.m. China Standard Time.
