After a rainy and stormy morning, the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship picked back up on day three with eight games across Shek Kip Mai Sports Park and Hong Kong Football Club Stadium.
The playoff picture is beginning to shape up as the top two teams in each pool look to book their spots in the quarterfinals set to begin on Wednesday.
The top four finishers from the last edition and the four favorites to advance – the United States, Canada, Australia and England – all have lived up to their billing so far in Hong Kong.
There remains plenty of drama for the remaining four spots and high-stakes matchups to come. Wales picked up a crucial win over a 1-0 Chinese Taipei team to keep its hopes alive in Pool C, and Italy and China secured 2-0 records with wins against fellow playoff hopefuls New Zealand and Germany, respectfully. Japan also bounced back with a win over Jamaica.
